So you want a website or a blog, eh?

First, you need to have “hosting” for your website or blog. I use 1&1 and they offer great support. I have heard or other people struggling with other hosting companies but this one works for me and I have recommended that to a couple of friends too.

Then, you need a domain name. Every website has a domai n name.
Examples: ,

We trust 1&1 for our domains - Get yours for $5.99 today!

You can get that from 1&1 too but first, get your hosting package and start with the smallest package (I suggest the 1&1 Linux hosting - 1&1 Beginner or the 1&1 Home). Then try to secure a domain name.

Then, you can start using their WebsiteBuilder if you want to make an easy but professional website. (I recommend having high speed internet, otherwise, forget it). It works a little slow but it works fine.

You can also create your own websites with a free website creator. I recommend Nvu (This is completely free): Nvu
This website creator (web authoring software) comes with an installed FTP (to upload your website). But it’s a little tricky to get it started and here is another option:
If you rather upload your website page by page or with a drag and drop tool, I recommend (Core FTP Lite) and here is the link (This is completely free too): Core FTP Lite

Now, it seems like you are getting ready to get started with a website. These are some of the websites that I use to learn html from. You would need to know some HTML in order to design a website or a webpage.

If you want to learn JavaScript or understand how it works:

When designing your website, make sure that you at least check your website or template on at least the 2 major browsers:
Internet Explorer

If you want a blog, you can go here: (it requires a little more knowledge to get this set up but if you like to do trials and test things out, this is for you.)

Now that you have your website you need visitors right? This is an easy way to get visitors (or clicks). Sign up is easy and delivery of visitors is automatic, not manual. Don't expect a rush of visitors but you'll see they come and the best part is that it's free. Don't buy any traffic until you try this service first.

If you want to receive money online or if you want to sell things online, you can easily set up a
paypal account and try it out. Their fees are very reasonable.
Sign up for PayPal and start accepting credit card payments instantly.

If you want people to find your website, you can then:

Submit url to google:

Submit your url to msn:

Submit your url to yahoo: (you’ll need to have a yahoo ID to do it):

If you need help with your website and you don’t want to spend a lot of money, please contact me at and let me know how you would like me to help you.

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.
